Benalla Art Gallery

Bridge Street Botanic Gardens Benalla Victoria

Situated in the heart of Victoria's bushranger country, the Benalla Art Gallery occupies a striking modernist building by the lake. The Gallery presents a diverse exhibition program while its Permanent Collection spans three centuries of Australian art and includes outstanding examples of contemporary and Indigenous art.

Benalla's Collection includes wonderful works by Arthur Streeton, Frederick McCubbin, Fred Williams, Sidney Nolan, and many other great Australian artists.

The cafe, Munro & Sargeant, overlooks beautiful Lake Benalla and offers relaxed dining featuring local wines and produce. Enjoy lunch or coffee and cake on the lakeside deck in an atmosphere of great art, good food and memorable views.

A trip to the Benalla Art Gallery can be complemented with a walk through the historical Benalla Botanical Gardens, and a viewing of the Benalla Ceramic Mural, featuring work by outstanding ceramists and artists.
