After a five-year hiatus, this celebrated event is making a triumphant return, poised to reinvigorate the local community. The festival now has a new curator, Eddie Zammit, who brings with him a fresh perspective. Renamed the "Benalla Street Art Festival" this revitalised project promises to deliver more than just murals. It will feature a diverse program, including immersive art experiences, exhibitions, cinema screenings, public forums, and the addition of over a dozen new murals.
Zammit shares "The festival will run from 21 - 28 March. However, I'm affording our artists the flexibility to extend beyond the official dates to ensure that the results reach grander proportions. All our artists will be actively engaged during the core event period."
"My intention is to invite artists of all ages, fostering a vibrant and inclusive creative community. I have a few surprises in store for the 2024 line-up, and my commitment is to continue to innovate. My focus is firmly on quality and I believe this will propel Benalla back into the spotlight as a must-visit destination for street art enthusiasts." says Zammit.
